Google’s Social Search

Well folks, it looks like Google is forcing its way into the social media arena! You can now connect your Twitter, Facebook, Yelp, Digg, Flickr, Linkedin and Quora Accounts To Google to “improve” your Google search results. Google’s Social Search is designed to display unique search results to a Googler based upon the people that he/she is connected to in their various social media networks. Here is a screenshot from my connected accounts:

Google uses social connections from the above social media websites to calculate your “social circle”. You can view your social circle page to see who your are connected to and which social sites were used to collect that information. What are your thoughts on this bold move by the all-mighty Gooogle? Is this their way into the social media arena after their numerous failed attempts?
